Henna brow treatments are a tinting and colouring treatment designed to offer a natural alternative to eyebrow makeup, microblading, and traditional eyebrow tinting. This service uses plant-based henna (also used in dyeing skin, hair, and fingernails) as a primary ingredient, allowing both the brow hairs, and the skin beneath them can be dyed. The ability of henna to stain both brow hairs and skin results in the creation of an eyebrow look with longevity and depth, delivering a final look similar to that of a traditional bold eyebrow filled with powder or pomade. 

Lasting for between 6 and 8 weeks, this service is an excellent option for those with sparse brow hairs of any colour, or those seeking a more defined brow look without the commitment or cost of microblading.

The choice between classic and hybrid lashes is ultimately a personal one. Classic lashes remain among one of the most popular options for those looking to achieve a fuller, yet natural look, and involves the application of extensions to individual natural lashes on a one-to-one ratio – meaning your final results will enhance, not overwhelm your features. Hybrid lashes, on the other hand, combine volume and individual semi-permanent lash extensions to give both volume and length, resulting in a wispy, textured, but significantly more dramatic look than classic lashes. 

Technically speaking, individual or classic lash extensions are a good option for those with a significant amount of existing lashes – as their one-to-one application ratio means they provide length and shape – not volume. Hybrid lash extensions are highly suited to those with more sparse lashes as a result of their ability to create volume – with multiple lashes being anchored to one existing lash throughout.

The amount of time your eyelash extensions last depends on a number of factors, including your lash growth cycle, the quality of the lash application, your lifestyle, and lash aftercare. Whilst most sets last for around six to ten weeks, it’s highly important that you adhere to the following care guidelines in order to ensure your lashes look their best for longer:

• Be particularly careful within the first 48 hours of application. Refrain from picking or rubbing your lashes, avoid hot showers and heat treatments such as saunas, and avoid sleeping on your front.
• Avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers. These products can break down the glue holding the extensions to the lashes quickly. 
• Gently wash and brush through your lashes a few times a week using a water-based baby shampoo in order to remove oil build-ups. 
• As lashes begin to fall out, maintain them with infill appointments if desired.

On average, an eyelash extension set will last for between six to eight weeks in accordance with a number of factors – primarily the quality of the initial application, your lash growth cycle, your lifestyle, and the aftercare methods applied. Lash extensions are one of the longer beauty treatments offered in the UK, with application times taking anywhere from 90 to 180 minutes depending on the number of lashes to be applied and the complexity of the desired look. 

During a lash extension service, an average of 70-100 individual extensions will be applied by hand per eye. As the treatment requires the client to stay relatively still throughout, many use their appointment as an opportunity to take a quick nap, meditate, or simply relax. 

Infill appointments, throughout which an existing set of lashes is topped up, take on average 30 – 50 minutes.

Henna eyebrows – referring to the tint present on the original eyebrow hairs – can last anywhere from 2 – 6 weeks depending on your lifestyle and aftercare process, whilst the henna stain on the skin beneath the brow can last up to 10 days if maintained well.

Whilst eyebrow tinting is an excellent option for those with a strong or naturally full but pale brow, henna brows are an excellent option for those seeking more shape. A traditional brow tint will dye the brow hairs alone – leaving a darkened and more defined look perfect for those with paler brows. Henna, on the other hand, stains both the brow hairs and the skin beneath, creating a look similar to what can be created with power makeup or brow pomade. This treatment is a great option for those with sparse brows aiming to achieve a fuller, more defined, or darker look – and a popular alternative to semi-permanent options such as microblading.

Patch testing is an important step in the lash lifting/tinting/extension process! This short test normally consists of a beautician placing a small amount of product to be used during your upcoming appointment to your skin – typically somewhere out of sight such as behind the ear Patch tests work over the course of 24 hours to ensure you won’t have a reaction to the salon’s products. 

It’s required by most insurers that every salon carries out a test patch for all new clients, and clients that haven’t been to us in the last 6 months. This is particularly relevant to lash tinting, extensions, and lifts!

Our Lash Lift treatment uses your natural lashes to create that coveted wide-eyed look, meaning its final results are highly durable, beautifully subtle, and very long-lasting. Depending on your natural lash growth cycle, your lash lift treatment should be effective for between 6-8 weeks. 

Unlike eyelash extensions, there’s no need for any maintenance appointment in between treatments! Just book in, enjoy, and re-book when you feel your eyelashes need a little extra curl!

Once you’ve chosen your therapist, you’ll be able to see an overview of their availability in calendar format and select a date and time that works for you.

We appreciate that sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. In order to keep things running as smoothly as possible on our side, we kindly request that at least 24 hours notice (but ideally 48 hours) be provided for cancellations. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment.

SMB Beauty appointments must be pre-paid. Unfortunately, if your appointment is cancelled with under 24 hours of notice, you won’t receive a refund.

Please note that at this time, we have limited parking only: should you be unable to find a space, the nearby new Library has a large pay and display area.
